About Me

Hello! My name is Julia and I am a Clinical Research Training for Psychologists T32 Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. I work in the Attention in Babies and Children Lab in the Youth and Family Research Program, directed by Dr. Heather Joseph. My research focuses on applying principles of developmental psychopathology to assess how contextual factors impact young children’s socioemotional development. I am particularly interested in refining father-derived caregiving constructs during early childhood and assessing their impact on children’s later psychosocial adjustment, especially the development of self-regulation skills, ADHD symptoms, and externalizing behaviors. I currently serve on the coordinating board of the Special Interest Research Group on Father-Child Attachment and Relationships (SIRG-FCAR).

Outside of graduate school, I enjoy playing with my cat (Pierogi), listening to podcasts, working on jigsaw puzzles, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
